  1. Under the ΓÇ£OptionsΓÇ¥ menu, there are several choices of when Shutdown FX will fade the screen to black.  To turn off Shutdown FX, select ΓÇ£Never fadeΓÇ¥.

This option takes effect immediately.  This means that, if you select ΓÇ£Never fadeΓÇ¥, Shutdown FX will not fade on restart or shutdown, even if the Shutdown FX system extension (or startup application) loaded when you booted your Mac.  If you select anything other than ΓÇ£Never fadeΓÇ¥, Shutdown FX will fade the screen the first time you restart and/or shutdown, even if the Shutdown FX system extension did not load when you booted your Mac.
